Expanding Roster of Talent at the 2025 SCAD Savannah Film Festival
The 2025 Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) Savannah Film Festival, known as the nation’s largest university-run film festival, is preparing to announce an expanded list of honorees, according to The Hollywood Reporter. This is in addition to the previous list of 10 prominent honorees that were announced just days earlier.
Among the latest additions to the festival’s roster are the internationally acclaimed writer-director, Park Chan-wook, who will be receiving the International Auteur Award for his work on Neon’s “No Other Choice”. Brendan Fraser is being recognized for his outstanding achievement in cinema through his role in Searchlight’s “Rental Family”. Spike Lee, the writer-director of A24’s “Highest 2 Lowest”, will receive the Legend of Cinema Award. Other honorees include Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas, Amanda Seyfried, Kristen Stewart, and Sydney Sweeney.
These talents join an already impressive list of previously-announced honorees, which includes Will Arnett, Hannah Beachler, Craig Brewer, Rose Byrne, Miles Caton, Jon M. Chu, Zoey Deutch, Joel Edgerton, Rian Johnson, Jennifer Lopez, Mark Hamill, Oscar Isaac, Dylan O’Brien, Benny Safdie, Miles Teller, and Tessa Thompson.
The executive director of the festival, Christina Routhier, expressed her delight with the lineup of honorees. She highlighted the honorees’ contributions to the film industry as truly inspiring, and showed particular enthusiasm for the opportunity students and audiences would have to learn from them. This, Routhier attests, is part of what makes the SCAD Savannah Film Festival such a transformative experience.
The festival, which is scheduled to run from October 25 to November 1, plans to have the honorees participate in award presentations, moderated conversations, and master classes with SCAD students.
The continually expanding list of luminaries for the 2025 SCAD Savannah Film Festival underscores its influence in the film industry and reaffirms its commitment to nurturing talent and promoting excellence in cinema. As we approach the festival, anticipation is building for what will surely be a memorable event.
